Production Freeze

Stainless Steel Case

In software development, a "Code Freeze" is a critical moment. It’s the point where you stop adding new features, stop tinkering with the architecture, and commit to the release.

In watchmaking, this is even harder to do.

It is tempting to tweak a bevel forever. It is easy to convince yourself that if you just changed the program one more time, it would be perfect. But that is how projects die.

Today, I am committing to a Code Freeze for Origin.

The design is locked. The CAM paths are validated. The manufacturing process is defined.

Next month, I am submitting Origin to the Horological Society of New York (HSNY) for their Independent Watchmaker grant program. While the application only requires a written narrative, I refuse to pitch them a "concept."

I want to present them with a finished, physical reality.

Coming Next:

Next week, I will share the Manufacturing Roadmap.

I’m going to break down exactly how the launch will work to ensure total transparency, including:

  • The "50/50" Allocation Model.
  • The delivery timeline.
  • The specifics of the Wave 1 release on February 20th.
